For the first time in my life i'm living somewhere that has an actual winter. It started snowing last night around 9 and my roommates waited a bit and went out and made a snowman which quickly turned into a snow owl. It snowed til super early in the morning and I wanted to get up early and take some good pictures but I just couldn't drag myself out of a warm cozy bed. By the time I got up at 10:30 the rain had mostly melted the snow away and turned it into slush. There was still snow on peoples cars and lawns when I was running errands around 12. I really appreciated the snowmans people made, Portlanders know how to take advantage of a 10 hour overnight snowfall when they get one! Anyways, I have never lived anywhere where its snowed before and I know that Portland only gets snow every 4 years or so, but Im glad it happened the first winter of being here. Im now even more exciting for the trip to the snow (just to play, no skiing because my broken ankle is still recovering) Eric and I are planning for next month!
