New Years Resolutions!
I know, I'm a little late, but hey! its still January. I decided that I have 3 main goals for 2012.
1. Get a new job.
I want a real job. Something I really want to do! I have been out of school for almost 2 years now and I am still working in food service. Im not saying that there is anything wrong with being a server or working in retail, but I would really love to find a job doing what I want to do and utilizing my education. To be fair, I haven't quite figured out exactly what I really want to do, so thats a big part of the resolution. Figure it out and do it!
2. Move!
No, not out of Portland! Of course not, I just got here! I really want to move to a new neighborhood. I totally dig the NE quadrant, but I am pretty far North. I'd like to live somewhere a little more central or even in SE. And ideally I would like to live with friends (maybe Danica!) or people I really get a long with. I currently live with 3 other people, 2 of which I met on August 1st, the day I moved in, and 1 that I just met a few weeks ago. They are great people and things are totally peachy, but I kind of just want a change of scenery. Plus living in different parts of the city is a great way to really get to know it and figure out where you fit in best. I didn't feel like I really understood San Francisco until I lived in a really central part of it.
3. Get a car!
I have decided that I would really love to have a car here. Portland is much bigger than San Francisco (3 times the geographical area) and although I have a bicycle and a scooter, I would much prefer a car. Also, my scooter is not starting again. Ugh! I'm over that money sucker. I want to start taking some ASL classes and maybe even a couple of graphic design classes at the city college here, but the campuses are pretty spread out. The largest city college campus is in the deep SW and taking classes there is only really feasible to me if I had some reliable motorized wheels.
So there you have it! I know that my goals pretty much break all of the goal setting rules (i.e. set smaller goals, set goals that are specific), but I believe mine to be totally obtainable!
