Flying By
This year is flying by! Summer is almost over and that makes me sad, but today's 100 degree heat sticking around also makes me sad. Eric's 31st birthday just past and my friend Richard was in town. It was really awesome to have him here, he's probably the funniest person I have ever met in my life. I am seriously not even exaggerating. I like having friends stay with Eric and I. It's a nice change of pace.
In order for this to not turn into a ramble, I'm going to recap the past few months in a nutshell!
June-My Birthday! Eric and I went to SF for my birthday. It was a ton of fun. I had some minor health issues while we were there, but we saw a ton of people, stayed with my best friend Ashlie and her gracious boyfriend Cory, hung out with Eric's sister, and had a grand ol time.
Also, I finally went and got my Oregon Drivers License so that was productive!
July-It was full blown summer in Portland and Eric and I went to the river every week! We left for the cabin at the end of July and we were gone for 10 days. There was a forest fire going on 7 miles away from the cabin so it got a little smokey, but we made the best of it. Ashlie and Corey met us there for a few days. My mom and all her sisters came up and Eric got to meet the whole family. My brother Alex brought his 4 year old up and it was so great to spend a couple days with him. I hadn't seen my nephew for a year and half and it was super cool to get to know him.
August-We came back from the cabin and settled back in to regular life. I got my wisdom teeth pulled and it wasn't that bad! I was expecting much worse. I got an unpaid internship as a Marketing Administrator for Cascadia Wild, a local non-profit!
September-Richard and his roommate Geoff came and stayed with us for 5 days! They had tickets to MFNW and were out and about most of the time. I had to work so I couldn't hang as much as I wanted to, but I'm so glad they came. We went and saw Chvrches one night which was a really fun show. The night before Eric's birthday, Tiny's had an employee party where I had way too many BeerRitas! Whats a BeerRita? It's just highlife, limeade, and tequila. Also known as "A terrible decision!" Then after the party we went to see The Chromatics and Glass Candy at the Wonder Ballroom with Richard and Geoff. My friends Kerry and Edgar were there too! My dance teacher/friend Leaux was actually back up dancing for Glass Candy. Too bad I can barely remember it. The next day was Eric's birthday and I was in pretty poor shape, but we went to brunch and then out to dinner that night and met up with friends for some drinks. It was a pretty great time.
Later this month, I'm getting a septoplasty to fix my deviated septum so I can breathe better! I only have a year left on my mom's insurance and I need to make sure I'm taking care of everything that needs to be addressed.
That pretty much sums up everything thats been going on.
I just looked back at my new year's resolutions and I think I am in pretty good shape, except for registering for the ASL course which I have decided not to do.
My current goal for this blog is to start posting more. Maybe once or twice a week. We'll see!
